Torri Higginson:
It’s the end of SG-1 Season Eight. The Goa’uld are no longer a threat. The International Oversight Advisory is threatening the closure of the program so that its resources may be diverted to the Atlantis expedition, besieged by the Wraith. SG-1 has gone fishing, but another SG-1 died in the past among the ancient Egyptians. It is here that a powerful piece of time travel technology quietly awaits discovery. The System Lords, decimated, scattered and demoralized by Earth and the replicators, look towards consolidating their power. With their reliance on clones destroying the fabric of their race, the Asgard search for the key to their future. The Free Jaffa begin their journey towards a democratic society, while the Fundamentalist Jaffa cling to their old ways. Into this chaos comes Ra. Our first enemy, vanquished one year before Stargate Command had a name, he rises from the grave to threaten the lives of every intelligent being in the Milky Way. Inadvertently unleashed by the presence of the Puddle Jumper left behind in Egypt by an alternate SG-1, Ra’s rebirth is secretly facilitated by an ancient enemy ultimately more dangerous than Ra himself. There are six playable races. The Stargate Union consists of SGC, Free Jaffa and Asgard. The New Mind Goa’uld, the Fundamentalist Jaffa and the renegade humans, Op-CORE, make up the Praxis. Each player race has their own journey from character creation to level cap, told through a series of missions. And so we begin. Promising new recruits to the Stargate program, saving the universe while keeping your sense of humor, part of a great tradition, having large and shiny shoes to fill. Will they step up? Recruits arrive at Cheyenne Mountain only to receive orders from General Jack O’Neill to come with him to shut down the beta site. Stargate Command is closing shop. General O’Neill is swamped and he needs you to help Colonel Samantha Carter. Carter’s trying to disable an alien device that’s causing every male to follow her around like puppy dogs. Help her with the device and join O’Neill at the beta site. Who is preventing the shutdown of the beta site? O’Neill wants the beta site decommissioned, but it’s a mess. Felger’s MALPs are running amok and you’ll need to help fix them. Find a hidden Goa’uld mothership full of Fundamentalist Jaffa and defeat them. Negotiate with Free Jaffa who have received poisoned Tretonin. Uncover an Ashrak loyal to Ra trying to kidnap Colonel Carter. Defeat him and save Carter. This leads to Carter and O’Neill concluding Ra is coming back and you can stop him at the Catacombs of Khenti. Storm the lost Catacombs of Khenti to prevent Ra’s return. Find and try to destroy the time travel technology that’s resurrecting Ra. It’s enabled by the very Puddle Jumper SG-1 brought back to ancient Egypt. The Puddle Jumper is destroyed, but not in time. Ra lives. The Fundamentalist Jaffa are whole again. Will you be able to save millions of innocents in Ra’s path of destruction? Evacuate refugees from Hebridan while Tech Con tries to turn a buck on the chaos. Fight revitalized Jaffa loyal to Ra on Chulak. How is Ra so effective? Secretly contacted by a member of Op-CORE you learn of a shadowy threat even greater than Ra. Save a wounded Tok’ra spy and learn the location of Ra’s regal flagship. Convince O’Neill and Carter to let you lead a strike team against Ra on his flagship. Sneak aboard Ra’s flagship with your elite Stargate Union squad. Become ambushed by a devastating new alien enemy, the Straegis. While falling back, take what you can grab, a Goa’uld birthing tank. The Straegis fight back hard and you barely survive, but you catch a break. The Goa’uld birthing tank contains the New Mind Goa’uld queen. Abduct her. Return to meet with O’Neill, Carter and Jackson at the SGC. Can you successfully fight both Ra and his new ally, the Straegis? The Straegis strike at the beta site in an attempt to seize the gate. Defend it. Research weapons technology to find something effective against the time-shifting Straegis. Strike at the Op-CORE to gain their technology. Negotiate with the Asgard for their temporal technology and learn that Ra is stealing info from the four members of the Ancient Alliance to build his ultimate weapon. Decipher Ra’s intent and learn he will soon strike at Earth. Convince O’Neill, the Free Jaffa and the Asgard to launch a unified strike before Ra can find the last piece. Ra acquires the final piece of his puzzle and triggers a devastating weapon. Earth is engulfed. Rush back to SGC as it is being invaded by Straegis and Praxis. The devastating effects of Ra’s weapon have already hit. In the nick of time, erect an Asgard time dilation shield to protect Earth temporarily. Queen Anat is gone, rescued by the Praxis. Can you save Earth? Gate to Kheb, searching for an answer to Ra’s weapon. You uncover the secret. There is no antidote, but there may be a way to reverse the effect known only to the Ancients. Travel the galaxy searching for living Ancients. Hold off the Straegis as they assault the Free Jaffa and the Asgard. Finally, secure the answer from Oma, still locked in an eternal chess match with Anubis. Build the hybrid Ancient/Asgard device and with General O’Neill, assault Ra’s flagship. Once aboard Ra’s flagship, destroy Ra’s weapon, sabotage the ship, but Ra escapes, and with him, he takes General O’Neill. You work with Sam and Daniel to determine their destination, the Furling home world. Travel to the Furling world, where you discover the mystery of the Furling, one being instanced in many different entities across time. See both their death and their birth at once. The Furling are the Straegis. Ra is a Furling. Ra is a Straegis. Ra is still hell-bent on destroying the universe. Since he is Straegis, he cannot be destroyed, he must be imprisoned outside of time. Unlock the ninth chevron on the Furling world and travel to Ra’s home. Destroy the temporal gate Ra is building on his world. Help O’Neill escape with Thor. Lock Ra within a temporal prison where he must be guarded at all times. You saved O’Neill and imprisoned Ra. With O’Neill’s support and after-action report, the IOA reopens SGC and authorizes a new type of Stargate team; a team dedicated to safeguarding against the eternal threat of Ra’s return. You are a founding member of Stargate Watch One.
